The Future of Print Media Event

ALTO’s first big event for the year was held on Wednesday, 12 April 2017 at the PKF accounting firm in the Melbourne CBD. Keynote speaker for the evening was Domain CEO, Antony Catalano, who provided a tale of his own career but also of the state of the print and electronic media industry. The focus of the evening was largely on the future of the media and it sought to explore the key challenges (and opportunities) that have impacted on the way traditional media now operates. Antony provided some fascinating insights into the media and he is a clear game-changer given his role with building Domain (owned by Fairfax). We were also fortunate to have a panel which provided some great colour and genuine discussion around the theme. The panel consisted of Catalano as well as Macquarie Media’s Rob Gilbert, the owner of Il Globo and Rete Italia, Julius Larobina and journalist/historian Ivano Ercole from Segmento Magazine. Thanks to PKF for their invaluable support of ALTO and particularly this event.
